Trainee accountants worldwide must study sustainability after international guidance was changed Thursday to embed environmental, social, and governance matters in professional study.
Global accounting body the International Federation of Accountants announced that it was changing its International Education Standards to embed sustainability in professional training. A spokesperson said by email that all of the federation’s members in 135 jurisdictions must adopt the standards, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
