A voluntary climate disclosure framework funded by Amazon, Google and Meta has passed public review with few objections, bringing closer an update of guidelines for reporting on corporate emissions from supply chains and other indirect sources.
The Greenhouse Gas Protocol’s disclosure guidelines for Scope 3 indirect emissions satisfied most who responded to a recent call for feedback on the reporting recommendations from 2011, officials with the initiative said Wednesday. Respondents had sought mostly minor updates, like some additional clarity, they said. The feedback came from companies, as well as accountants and environmentalists, among others.
