Australia Bars Ex-PWC Partner for Leaking Government Info (2)

PwC Australia’s former head of international tax has been barred from working as a tax agent for two years after he was found to have leaked government plans, the national tax watchdog said Monday.

Peter-John Collins was penalized for failure to comply with the Code of Professional Conduct, according to a statement from the Australian Tax Practitioners Board. While a tax partner at the Australian arm of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Collins provided other partners and staff of the Big Four firm with details of a confidential government consultation aimed at preventing tax avoidance by multinationals, the board said.
