The Austrian government on Monday announced a group of inspectors dedicated to fighting tax fraud and evasion collected around 48.5 million euros ($52 million) in back taxes and completed 210 cases in 2023.
In addition to the collection of back-taxes, the perpetrators faced 100 million euros in penalties, according to a statement from Finance Minister Magnus Brunner.
