Bank, Crypto Sectors Targeted for Greater Audit Board Scrutiny

Bank and crypto company audits will receive extra scrutiny as the US accounting oversight board launches its latest round of inspections targeting a spate of emerging risks that contributed to a series of bank failures and bailouts in recent months.

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board will gauge how auditors responded to fraud risks, their going concern assessments, and their response to shifting economic conditions as it reviews firms’ work vetting 2022 corporate financial statements.
