BDO Overtakes Big Four to Become Largest U.K. Auditor

BDO LLP has become the largest auditor of U.K. listed companies, overtaking the Big Four accounting firms as reforms drive companies to smaller firms.

BDO gained 35 listed audit clients over the past year to take its total to 310—ahead of PwC with 307 and KPMG LLP with 260, Adviser Rankings said in an email Tuesday. PwC, also known as PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, lost 46 clients over the year and KPMG lost 52. Ernst & Young LLP, in fourth place, and Deloitte LLP, in fifth, also lost clients.
