BFF Breaches Capital Level After Restating Last Year Profit (1)

BFF Bank SpA’s capital level dropped below a key regulatory threshold after the lender was forced to restate last year’s earnings, pushing it ever deeper into crisis.

The restatement followed a regulatory review of its accounts that almost halved 2025 profit to €37 million ($43.3 million) from €70.2 million previously announced. The bank’s total capital declined to 12.31%, breaching the minimum level set by the Bank of Italy for the year at 13.3%, while CET1 ratio remained above the minimum set by regulators.
