BGOV Hill Watch: Taxes, Border to Dominate GOP’s Washington

President-elect Donald Trump and the GOP-controlled Congress are readying a suite of policy changes as the 119th Congress gets to work.

Republicans aim to enact tax cuts, border security measures, energy changes, a debt-ceiling increase, and spending cuts through the budget reconciliation process, which eliminates the need for Democratic votes in the Senate. But House and Senate leaders are still debating whether to pass one or two legislative packages.
