Big Businesses Bristle at Accounting Expense Disclosure Rollout

Large companies are sounding alarm bells about a US accounting standard-setter plan that would force them to reveal more details about how they spend their money.

Companies as diverse as Marathon Oil Corp., the Boeing Co., Ford Motor Co., and Starbucks Corp. warn that the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s proposal as written would cost too much to implement and ultimately not deliver important information to investors, according to comment letters sent to FASB.
