Big Global Firms Get Ahead of ESG Reporting and Audit Mandates

Nearly all big multinational companies are already reporting on sustainability efforts in the run-up to many countries requiring such disclosures, with three-quarters getting the information audited, a new report found.

About 73% of companies obtained audits of their sustainability information in 2023, marking a big jump over five years prior, when slightly more than half (51%) of companies did so, the report by two international accounting organizations found. The findings released Monday were based on a survey of 1,400 companies globally.
