BlackRock Hires Hurst as Chief Sustainability, Impact Officer

BlackRock Inc. hired former Wells Fargo & Co. executive Nate Hurst as chief sustainability and social-impact officer at the world’s largest asset manager.

Hurst, 47, will oversee the integration of sustainability goals into BlackRock operations, disclosures and reporting, according to a memo to employees on Wednesday from Dalia Blass, the company’s head of external affairs. Hurst will also oversee the social-impact team, which leads the BlackRock Foundation and philanthropic work.
