AI-cloud computing company CoreWeave Inc. is liable for cryptography patent claims brought by Malikie Innovations Ltd. in a lawsuit over Bitcoin mining at data centers, Core Scientific told a federal court.
Malikie’s lawsuit involves equipment CoreWeave placed inside Core Scientific’s facilities, according to a third-party complaint filed March 27 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Core Scientific said it allows CoreWeave to use space at data centers for high-performance computing activities. If Core Scientific is found to have infringed two of the patents asserted by Malikie, it said, CoreWeave should be on the hook.
