Crowe Taps Audit Managing Partner Mark Baer as New CEO

Accounting firm Crowe LLP named audit managing partner Mark Baer as its next CEO.

Baer, who spent five years as managing partner of the firm’s audit and assurance services practice, took the helm of the firm on Thursday. He succeeds Jim Powers, who spent two terms as CEO, the maximum the firm allows, according to an announcement.

  • As part of the transition, Baer appointed Brenda Torres, the firm’s lead for audit quality and operations, as the new chief operating officer at Crowe.
