An unnamed public accounting firm is suing to halt a US regulator’s demand for documents as part of an ongoing probe of the firm’s crypto-related audit work.
The suit is the third to challenge the US audit regulator’s investigative powers brought by anonymous plaintiffs each represented by the New Civil Liberties Alliance. The legal group, backed by conservative funders, has challenged government agency power in cases that have landed at the US Supreme Court.
