Top-25 accounting firm Cherry Bekaert has acquired Louisville, Ky.-based MCM CPAs & Advisors LLP, making Cherry Bekaert the largest accounting firm in the Southeast, the firm announced Thursday.
The acquisition aims to bolster the Richmond, Va.-based firm’s work as accountant and advisor to mid-sized companies and also expands its reach in three states where MCM operates—Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana.
The acquisition also just made sense, said Michelle Thompson, CEO of Cherry Bekaert Advisory LLC, the accounting firm’s advisory arm.
