Deloitte’s consulting practice faces a defamation lawsuit from a software provider claiming a disagreement over alleged trade secrets tarnished its professional reputation and cost the business hundreds of millions of dollars in contracts.
Deloitte Consulting LLP is accused of spreading false information about Sagitec Solutions LLC’s products and business practices to current and potential clients, including what the software provider called “unfounded allegations of trade secret theft” in a Thursday announcement of its complaint. The lawsuit, filed in Delaware Superior Court, seeks punitive damages, among other relief.
