ESG Rulemaker Shifts Attention to Making Firms Use Its Standards

The International Sustainability Standards Board said Tuesday that it is turning its attention to making companies globally use its standards, now that it has started to write them.

In an announcement at the UN Climate Change Conference in Egypt, the ISSB said it has teamed up with a widely-used voluntary reporting standard from CDP Global to have more companies implements its rules when they are eventually finalized. It also announced a new partnership arrangement with the big accounting firms and other international organizations to smooth adoption of those standards.
