European Sustainability Reporting Rules Ready for Final Approval

A dozen European Union sustainability reporting rules were finalized Tuesday for European Commission approval, paving the way for their mandatory adoption from 2024.

The EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Technical Expert Group approved the standards, which will be required for use by all companies employing more than 250 people. The standards on environmental, social, and governance issues were written by the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group and will be sent to the commission for approval in November.
