Ex-EY Global Head Behind Failed Split Joins Consello as Advisor

The Consello Group appointed former Ernst & Young global chair Carmine Di Sibio as a senior advisor to the firm Friday. Di Sibio retired in June after leading a failed bid to split the $50 billion audit and consulting firm.

Di Sibio will advise business leaders on corporate issues with Consello and will work alongside firm partners including former athletes Tom Brady and Serena Williams at the two-year-old advisory and investing business.

“I am thrilled to join Consello, a pioneer in strategic advisory and investing,” Di Sibio said in a statement. “Leveraging my global experience at EY, I look forward to contributing to Consello’s growth and helping our clients achieve transformative success.”

  • Di Sibio tried to spin off EY’s consulting business and most of its tax practice into a stand-alone company. Leaders called off the breakup in April 2023 when the firm’s US affiliate decided not to take part as partners sparred over terms for compensation and resources for the audit practice.
  • He had been expected to remain at the Big Four firm until 2025, but announced his retirement last year.
  • Di Sibio also recently joined the boards of Prudential Financial Inc. and Paypal Holdings Inc.
