Ex-PPG Controller to Pay $100K to Settle SEC Accounting Charges

The former corporate controller of PPG Industries Inc. has agreed to pay $100,000 to settle Securities and Exchange Commission charges for his role in a scheme that inflated the company’s income to meet earnings estimates.

Mark Kelly, whom PPG fired in 2018, also agreed to a professional bar from appearing before the SEC as part of a settlement order the agency released Friday.
