Ernst & Young LLP’s U.K. boss is stepping down from day-to-day control to take a climate change role.
Steve Varley is resigning as the firm’s U.K. managing partner to begin a newly created role as EY’s global sustainability leader, the firm said in a statement Jan. 14. Varley has been the firm’s U.K. managing partner and chairman since 2011, and will remain chairman.
• EY said that a replacement managing partner “will be appointed in coming months.” Varley leaves to become EY’s first global sustainability strategy leader, advising the firm and its clients on environmental matters.
