Finland and France Approve Global Minimum Tax Legislation

Finland and France recently adopted legislation to apply the global minimum tax rules in their countries just days before they’re slated to take effect in Europe.

President of the Finnish Republic Sauli Niinistö on Thursday approved the law on “the minimum tax for large corporations,” according to an updatefrom the country’s Treasury. The French Parliament on Dec. 21 passed global minimum tax legislation.

The global minimum tax, which is part of the OECD-led global tax deal agreed to in 2021 by more than 140 countries, is a 15% minimum top-up tax. The levy ...
