FRC Says Audits May Be Delayed by Coronavirus

U.K. regulator the Financial Reporting Council says it expects coronavirus to affect the way audit firms carry out audits, considering the outbreak is creating uncertainty about the immediate outlook for many companies, according to a statement.

  • Audits should continue to comply fully with required standards
  • In current circumstances, additional time may be required to complete audits and says it is important that this is taken, “even at the risk of delaying company reporting”
