Global ESG Rulemaker Says Investor Interests Are Paramount

The International Sustainability Standards Board confirmed Wednesday that it’s prioritizing investors and said companies must disclose sustainability-related information that could impact investment decisions.

The ISSB voted unanimously to retain its investor orientation, and said companies should explain how they decided on which environmental, social, and governance activities to report. The board was discussing the feedback on one of two draft reporting standards it published in March that covers general sustainability disclosures.
