Grant Thornton Sells Government Advisory Business to Guidehouse

Grant Thornton LLP will sell its public sector consulting practice to private equity-backed Guidehouse in a bid to boost the accounting firm’s capital and streamline its offerings, the firms said Monday.

Terms of the deal, set to close later this year, weren’t disclosed. But in a statement, Guidehouse CEO Scott McIntyre said that the former Grant Thornton consultants would bolster its existing teams to provide federal agencies plus state and local governments with finance, data, and other services.
