Grant Thornton UK Profit Dropped 78% as Cinven Deal Took Hold

Grant Thornton UK reported a roughly 78% drop in profit last year, as costs related to private equity firm Cinven Ltd.’s investment in the accountancy firm weighed on the business.

Pretax profit at the UK unit fell to £32 million ($43.3 million) in 2025 from £143.6 million the previous year, partly tied to transaction fees as well as bonuses and other payouts to staff, according to an earnings statement. Revenue rose 4% to £787 million.

The average pay for partners at Grant Thornton UK stayed rose less than 1% to £686,000, from £682,000 in 2024.
