Australia’s Greens Party is calling for a broad Senate investigation into the government’s use and management of consultants after a PwC Australia partner was found to have leaked confidential tax plans to other members of his firm.
Sen. Barbara Pocock, Finance spokeswoman for the Greens Party, called Monday for an inquiry to take “particular regard to conflicts of interest, breaches of contract and unethical behavior” by consultants. She is targeting the Big Four accounting firms—the largest beneficiaries of Australian government consultancy contracts—particularly PwC, also known as Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP.
