IRS CEO Grilled During House Hearing
IRS CEO Frank Bisignano was in the hot seat at a hearing Wednesday, facing questions from Democrats on the agency’s controversial data-sharing agreement with immigration enforcement and the termination of its union contract.
“A voluntary tax system depends on trust. And right now, I’m concerned that that trust is collapsing with many Americans,” Rep. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.) said during the House Ways and Means Committee hearing.
Bisignano told the committee that no IRS employee was fired or disciplined after the agency mistakenly gave the Department of Homeland Security too much personal data about immigrants. ...
