A final version of the 2026 employer’s federal tax guide for fringe benefits, not including the 2026 mileage rate, was released Dec. 23 by the Internal Revenue Service.
“The business mileage rate for 2026 hasn’t yet published at the time this publication was published,” the IRS said in the 2026 Publication 15-B, Employer’s Tax Guide to Fringe Benefits, directing readers to the Publication 15-B page on its website. The publication also does not include the maximum automobile value above which the mileage rate cannot be used, again directing readers to the IRS’s website.
