A whistleblower who gave the IRS information to recover unpaid tax from a Fortune 500 company was awarded $11.9 million , attorneys representing the person said.
The whistleblower was a “knowledgeable, informed, insider with detailed awareness about specific failures to pay tax,” Dean Zerbe of the Tax Whistleblower Attorney Group, who represented the person, said in a Tuesday news release. The whistleblower wants to stay anonymous, according to the release.
