KPMG U.K. Still in Government Probes Over Two Major Audits

KPMG U.K. remains under investigation over its audits of two collapsed companies, Conviviality Plc and Carillion Plc, despite the end of a separate investigation into Conviviality’s accounting, the U.K.'s audit watchdog said Friday.

The Financial Reporting Council said that it ended an investigation into the preparation of Conviviality’s accounts by a staff member without taking any action. However, the watchdog confirmed that it was still investigating KPMG’s audit of the company, which collapsed in 2018, along with the firm’s audit of another company that collapsed that year, Carillion.
