Mergers and private equity investments rearranged the rankings of US public accounting firms this year, including several in the top 10 changing spots and one smaller firm fueled by outside capital climbing more than 150 spots to enter the top 200.
Baker Tilly moved up from the 10th- to the sixth-largest firm by net revenue after its merger with former rival Moss Adams. San Antonio-based ATKG Advisors, which took an investment from private equity-backed Ascend, jumped from 333rd to 174th, according to Chelsea Summers, executive director of INSIDE Public Accounting.
