Michigan Physician Assistant Gender Pay Gap Lawsuit Tossed

A female University of Michigan physician assistant didn’t adequately plead a lawsuit that alleged women in her position were paid less than men, a federal judge ruled Thursday.

Christine Oldenburg-McGee “offers no facts to allow the Court to infer plaintiff was paid less than a male PA for equal work” and provides a claim under the Equal Pay Act that’s “too speculative to withstand defendants’ motion to dismiss,” Judge Shalina D. Kumar wrote in an opinion dismissing the proposed class action.
