Ohio Publishes 2026 Unemployment Taxes, Incorporates New Fee

Ohio released its 2026 unemployment insurance tax rates on the Department of Job and Family Services website.

Total tax rates for most experienced employers will range from 0.55% to 10.25% for 2026, according to a department publication. The total rate consists of experience rates ranging from 0.4% to 10.1%, unchanged from 2025, and a new technology and customer service fee of 0.15%.

The technology and customer service fee, which is $13.50 for nonprofits that elect to reimburse the state unemployment trust fund, was created under HB 96, the state’s recent budget bill. The fee is scheduled to sunset ...
