Overhaul Underway at U.S. Audit Regulator, More Change to Come

The U.S. audit regulator created a new program to inspect the work of its own inspectors and met with hundreds of audit committee members this year in an ongoing effort to reinvent how the agency protects investors.

“During 2019, we began the hard work of implementing our vision, instilling our values, and accomplishing our goals. Doing so has demanded significant organizational change—changes in structure, processes, capabilities, and, most of all, culture,” William Duhnke, chairman of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, said in prepared remarks Nov. 19.
