Perplexity AI Inc. escaped a trademark lawsuit after Perplexity Solved Solutions Inc. failed to comply with a court order to retain licensed counsel.
The Texas-based software company was given repeated warnings that its failure to obtain representation could result in dismissal, but Perplexity Solved has failed to do so in the nearly three months since the court’s order, Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said in a Monday order. Corley dismissed with prejudice the claims against Perplexity AI, and entered default on its counterclaims.
