PwC Australia’s Ex-CEO Is Latest Looped Into Tax Leak Scandal

The former CEO of PwC Australia met repeatedly with tax officials to discuss concerns about PwC’s tax group, despite his assertion he knew nothing of problems that created the tax scandal now engulfing it, said an official document released by a Senate committee.

The document says Luke Sayers, who served as PricewaterhouseCoopers Australia CEO from 2012 to 2020, attended a meeting on Aug. 29, 2019 with Jeremy Hirschhorn, second commissioner of the Australian Tax Office, on the Big Four firm’s conduct.
