PwC’s top partners have picked the firm’s advisory leader as its next global chair, steering the professional services network as it grapples with softer demand for consulting work and governance failures centered in Australia.

The firm’s global board told partners Monday that it had appointed Mohamed Kande to succeed Bob Moritz, who is set to retire next summer after leading the Big Four network for eight years. Member firms must still ratify Kande’s nomination—an internal process that is expected to run through November, a person familiar with the firm’s deliberations said.
