SEC Chief Accountant to Step Down as Biden Team Takes Office

The SEC’s top accountant will step down from his post in February after holding the position since July 2019, he said Wednesday.

Chief Accountant Sagar Teotia named controversial changes to strict auditor independence rules as among his top accomplishments, along with the commission’s work urging global accounting firms to tighten their oversight of audits and financial reporting coming out of China.
