An energy company asked the Eighth Circuit to pause the SEC’s corporate climate disclosure rules again on Tuesday, after another court lifted a temporary hold on the regulations last week.
The request from Liberty Energy Inc. and Nomad Proppant Services LLC followed the random selection of the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit as the venue for a case consolidating nine lawsuits across the country challenging the Securities and Exchange Commission’s rules. The rules, issued March 6, require publicly listed companies to report their greenhouse gas emissions and disclose climate-related risks to their business.
