Senators Press SEC on Oversight of Audit Regulatory Board

Two Democrats on the Senate Banking Committee want the SEC to explain how it is enhancing oversight of the board that regulates auditing of public companies.

In a letter to SEC Chairman Jay Clayton, ranking member Sherrod Brown of Ohio and Jack Reed of Rhode Island questioned what role Commissioner Hester Peirce will play in overseeing the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and sought information about extended vacancies in the board’s general counsel and enforcement director positions.
