Houston dealmaker Stephen Gill is joining Skadden as the global law firm looks to grow its presence in the city.
Gill is leaving Vinson & Elkins, where he co-leads the firm’s corporate group and strategic mergers & acquisitions practice, according to two sources familiar with the situation. He worked on large public energy deals involving oil producers CrownRock and Chord Energy, and steered Waste Management, Inc. in its $7.2 billion acquisition of Stericycle, over more than two decades at the firm.
Gill and spokespersons for Skadden and Vinson & Elkins did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
