Bigger companies in the U.S. and U.K. are starting to delegate the data gathering part of the audit process to technology companies rather than accounting firms, according to a new report.
A third of large companies are already reapportioning their audit processes, with another 44 percent thinking of doing so, according to a report published Feb. 11 by consulting firm Source Global Research.
Forty-five percent of the companies said that this would mean more parts of the audit going to technology firms.
