Amendments to Thailand’s Labor Protection Act published Nov. 7 extended the period of maternity leave to 120 days and allow paid leave for spouses before or after a birth.
The period of maternity leave, as amended by the Labor Protection Act (No. 9) (Thai), increased from 98 days. The amendments only require 60 days of leave to be paid, up from 45. The amendments allow an additional 15 days at half pay when the child is disabled or may develop complications.
