A member of the U.S. audit regulatory board wants to hear from stakeholders how the organization can encourage broader use of technology tools to improve audit quality.
Public Company Accounting Oversight Board rules don’t actively support auditors’ use of new tools test and scrutinize their clients’ financial information, even though those rules don’t prohibit their use, board member Rebekah Goshorn Jurata said in a video message posted Monday.
“We might want and need to be able to do more. There’s obviously a difference between nothing prohibiting versus facilitating or encouraging,” said Goshorn Jurata, who joined the board a year ago. ...
