UK Government Promises Audit Reform Despite Years-Long Delay

The UK government said Wednesday it remained committed to audit reform, despite saying last week that nothing would happen this parliamentary session.

The government continues to talk to companies about developing reform plans and will “take them forward when Parliamentary time allows,” a spokesperson said in an emailed statement.

“We recognise how much audit reform matters to businesses across the country and are determined to ensure reforms support long-term investment,” the spokesperson said.
