UK Treasury to Work With US on Crypto Rules, Spurning EU Fears

The UK government will collaborate with US officials on plans to regulate the burgeoning crypto industry, distancing itself from European concerns about President Donald Trump’s embrace of the sector.

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves discussed digital-asset regulation with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent earlier this month, she said in a speech at the Innovate Finance Global Summit on Tuesday. The two countries will hold more talks “to support the use and responsible growth of digital assets” at an upcoming meeting of the UK-US Financial Regulatory Working Group in June, she added.
