The UK’s audit regulator pressed for the passage of much-delayed audit reforms to shore up investor confidence in the country’s companies.
The plea for the Labour government to act on audit reform was part of a letter the Financial Reporting Council made public Friday outlining the watchdog’s accomplishments last year and priorities for 2025. Upcoming areas of focus include strong audit and corporate governance regulation to attract investors, FRC CEO Richard Moriarty said in the letter to UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade Jonathan Reynolds.
