The number of undergraduate students who enrolled in accounting programs last fall accelerated to nearly rival pre-pandemic levels, new data show.
Accounting enrollment rose 12% in fall 2024 compared to the prior year, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants said in a Wednesday statement, citing National Student Clearinghouse Research Center data. The cohort still was more than 8,500 students shy of the fall 2019 total.
