The new chair of the US audit board aims to stand up a permanent inspection program for auditors of brokerages by early 2027, he said Wednesday.
Formalizing the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board’s reviews of broker-dealer audits is a “significant” priority for the regulator, Chair Demetrios Logothetis told a group of accountants who work with brokerage clients at an event in New Jersey.
“Our staff is busy working on coming up with a plan that will be presented to the board in the next few weeks,” Logothetis said.
